The Tilly Project and End-of-Life Pet Photography

The Tilly Project is a wonderful non-profit organization dedicated to providing end-of-life pet photography services to families who are preparing to say goodbye to their beloved companions. As an affiliate of the Tilly Project, I’m proud to offer this meaningful service to pet owners in the DFW area. Many people aren’t aware that end-of-life pet photography exists, but it’s a special way to preserve the love and memories shared with a pet in their final days. These sessions help families celebrate the bond they have with their pets, providing a lasting way to honor their memory as they prepare to cross the rainbow bridge.

Through my partnership with the Tilly Project, I prioritize scheduling these sessions as quickly as possible because I understand how precious time is in these moments. Whether you have a dog, cat, or any other type of pet, I’m here to help you capture their personality and the moments that mean so much.

Last year, I had the privilege of working with a sweet family on a rainbow session for their beloved cat, Magnolia. After Magnolia was diagnosed with a terminal illness, her family reached out to me right away, and we scheduled the session promptly. I spent time with the family in their home, capturing Magnolia doing her favorite things with the people she loved. It was a deeply emotional and fulfilling experience to preserve those memories for them, and I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of it.

This kind of work is so meaningful to me. I wish I had known about end-of-life pet photography when I had to say goodbye to my childhood dog—it would have been such a gift to have photos to remember him by. I do have many photos of him that our family took on old cameras and cell phones. However, I do wish I could have had a lifestyle portrait session dedicated specifically to him. Now, I’m honored to provide my clients with professional, heirloom-quality images they can cherish forever.

As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve had the honor of caring for many pets throughout my life—dogs, chinchillas, ferrets, hamsters, rats, birds, turtles, and snakes. My experiences with these animals have taught me just how special and important our pets are to us. They are more than just animals; they are family members who bring joy, comfort, and unconditional love. I understand deeply the bond we share with our pets and the pain that comes when it’s time to say goodbye. That’s why this work is so close to my heart. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about helping families honor and preserve the special connection they have with their pets.

Because of my extensive experience with all types of animals, I’m proud to be able to photograph any pet, from dogs and cats to more unique companions like birds, reptiles, and small mammals. No matter the species, every pet deserves to be celebrated in the way that reflects the love they’ve brought to their families. I’m here to help capture those moments with your pet and their loving owners.

Magnolia had fun with her pet parents playing with toys and her favorite string in the kitchen.

Thank you to the Tilly Project for bringing awareness about this type of service and helping connect pet parents and photographers to capture these meaningful sessions. I’m grateful to be part of their mission to help families create lasting memories with their pets. You can visit the Tilly Project website to learn more.
